Homo Black Homo Polled 44% Balancer

Owned with Twin Oak Gelbvieh. We drove 100's of miles and looked at 100's of bulls last spring searching for an outcross Balancer bull to add to our program. CTR Money 0826H was the bull we selected after our travels. We love this bull for his soundness and completeness. You simply can't pick a hole in him. We were really impressed with the entire Money sire group at Cedar Top and he was part of a standout 9 head flush group that had at least 3 big time herd bull prospects in it. For our program we felt he was the top pick of the group and are excited about this young herd sire's potential.

Go Time was the 2022 People's Choice Balancer Bull Futurity Champion. We purchased walking rights on him at that time. In his first calf crop he produced Post Rock Clock Work 164L8 the 2024 People's Choice Balancer Bull Futurity Champion and also sired the 2024 People's Choice Balancer Bull Futurity Runner Up, Post Rock Pay Dirt 140L8 ET. He has also left us a most impressive set of daughters and other sons with added muscle shape and eye appeal to choose from.

We purchased High Life a year ago with Cedar Top Ranch as one of the highest selling, most sought after Balancer bulls in the breed’s entire H calf crop. A year ago we sampled him on heifers and gave him a cross section of our cows.  We didn’t feel a bull with his depth of body, mass and thickness would hold true to his top 20% calving ease but was likely to hold true to his top 2% growth traits.  Turns out we were wrong.  This year, we bred him to almost all the balancer heifers and he ran clean up with the big group of virgin heifers.  We also bred him AI and used him on more cows in our embryo program than any other Balancer bull.  There’s simply no denying his progeny are extra soggy with muscle and pounds and are incredibly easy calving with added eye appealing to boot.  He is a legitimate curve bender and will be a mainstay in our program for many years to come and should be a heavily used AI sire for years to come as well.

With over 250 progeny in the AGA database High Life has an amazing 99 BW, 102 WW, and 102 YW ratios on his progeny.

We purchased this purebred bull as the high seller in the Southwest Iowa Gelbvieh Bull sale from Holste Gelbvieh. He was brought in for his complete outcross purebred pedigree and his potential to add performance, and carcass merit with maternal strength in our purebred herd. His top 20% growth EPD’s and top 1% marbling strength were put to the test in the 2022 AGF Scale and Rail contest with his sons in the pen grading 100% choice with a 4.4 average daily gain, 446 marbling score, 16.24 average ribeye area, and only .58 inches of backfat with an average yield grade of only 2.0.  In the purebred division of the 2022 AGF Scale and Rail contest Roy sired the Grand Champion ADG Purebred and the Grand Champion Pen of Purebred Steers that ranked 3rd, 4th, and 5th overall.  As an individual, he posts a 88 BW ratio with a 105 WW ratio.  While on test he was the high gaining bull with a 5.06 average daily gain and his ultrasound data was equally impressive with 107 ratio, ribeye area of 15.53, and a 1268 scan weight with only .33 backfat and a whopping 125 IMF marbling ration on ultrasound.  He’s being infused deep in our purebred base of females.

Probity was the very popular 2017 People's Choice Balancer Futurity Champion and has turned out to be even more impressive as a breeding bull. He sired the 2020 People's Choice Balancer Futurity and National Champion, Rebel Yell. Throughout the seedstock industry, many sales had featured sire groups that were Probity sons of which several were sale toppers. His daughters at Post Rock and wherever we viewed them are equally impressive. We purchased full possession and half semen interest in the spring of 2020 from our good friend, Gary Carlisle. We have used him heavily in our Balancer program on Game Changer C136 and Young Gun daughters. His sire, Payweight 1682, has proven to be a landmark sire in the Angus breed, and Probity is the best breeding son of Payweight in the Balancer breed. Note his exceptional and proven EPD strength. His sons and daughters are highly recommend and will be large and important sire groups for many years.

In 2022 Probity sired the Grand Champion Pen of Balancer Carcass Value Steers in the official AGF Scale and Rail Contest and in 2023 his son, DCSF POST ROCK PROMINENT 139K8 was named the Breeder's Choice Balancer Futurity Champion.

Game Changer sire the high individual in the average daily gain, the high individual in the carcass value portion of the contest, and was the overall winner in the sire group award; which marks the first time that any single bull has swept all three contests. Astronaut first came on the scene as one of the most exciting young bulls in recent breed history when 29 semen shareholders made him one of the all-time high valued bulls in Gelbvieh history at the 2014 Post Rock sale. He has made the progression from hot young AI sire to highly respected breed impacting sire in rapid progression. Astronaut sons are sturdy built beef bulls that perform, and he has top 1% marbling EPDs. His daughters have proven to be a solid addition to all cow herds.

Purchased by our friends at Circle S Ranch, Powerbuilt is one of the most popular AI sires today. Powerbuit has set a new standard for muscle, volume, and rib shape. His progeny are in high demand in the show ring, twice winning the Breeder's Choice Futurity Heifer in Louisville for Circle S Ranch, in addition to siring the Champion Bred and Owned Female at the Junior National for our daughter, Meredith. He's even more of a champion for cattlemen who pay their bills by the pound for the added butts, guts, and pounds of payweight of his progeny. We highly recommend his genetics.

In a data-driven world, C136 has few equals. We purchased this Angus sire Discovery son out of the performance-strong Thorstentson herd in South Dakota as the high selling, high ratioing bull of the 2016 sale. C136 posted a 97 BW ratio against 132 contemporaries, a 123 WW ratio, and was ranked #1 against 114 herdmates, and a 117 YW ratio, also ranking #1 against 80 herd mates, all in a low 6 frame size. On ultrasound, he posted a 103 REA ratio and a 113 IMF ratio against 75 herd mates. His dam posted an impressive 102 BW, 111 WW, 106 YW ratios on her calves and is a dam of merit. His granddam has a 98 BW, 104 WW, 98 YW ratio on 7 calves and has also been awarded Dam of Merit. His great granddam has an 84 BW, 105 WW, 101 YW ratio on 9 calves and is an AGA Dam of Distinction. On his initial calf crop, C136 has a 94 BW ratio, 101 WW, 102 YW, 100 REA, and 121 YMF ratios. He has as strong of a curve-bending EPD profile as you can write and has as large a contemporary group data base generations deep to back it up.

Armstrong was the high selling bull in our 2018 sale to ABS Global. He has been a major semen producer and seller in the Beef on Dairy Program for ABS. We use him on our high percentage purebred females to capture the added body depth and muscle along with exceptional marbling genetics he produces.

Post Rock Top Gun is one of the all-time best bulls ever produced in our program. He was a phenotypic standout at an early age and has developed into a most impressive herd sire who's perfect in his feet and leg structure and has great depth and mass in an eye appealing design. His EPD profile reflects our 30+ year commitment to calving ease, performance, maternal and marbling. His sons are equally impressive in the flesh. We use him on our purebred 94% and higher females to make purebreds with few equals and on our females who are less than 30% to increase our Gelbvieh percentage back closer to the 50% level.

At the 2023 AGF Scale and Rail Contest Top Gun sired the Grand Champion Gelbvieh Pen of Steers, The Grand Champion Carcass Value Gelbvieh Steer and The Grand Champion ADG Gelbvieh Steer.

We're really excited about our Young Gun progeny. He's a bull that offers fresh new genetics that cover all the bases of efficient beef production. He phenotypically excels from every angle and was the 2017 Reserve National Champion Balancer Bull in Denver, the only time he was ever shown. He combines acceptable calving ease, growth, and carcass genetics with a one of a kind phenotype. His progeny have tremendous rib shape, muscle, bone, and structural correctness, and are standouts on paper and in the pasture. His daughters came into production in 2019, and we feel that they may be his strongest asset. They are marvelous females.

In 2021 Young Gun sired both the Grand Champion carcass value steer and the Grand Champion Balancer pen of steers in the American Gelbvieh Foundation “Scale and Rail” contest, adding to his credentials of being an elite sire that's industry relevant.
